This is a tutorial for signing into your computer for the first time.
Before signing into the computer for the first time, please connect your computer to the network directly by either plugging an ethernet cable into your computer or connect your computer to a docking station that has an ethernet cord plugged into it. (Examples above)
- Once your computer is connected to the network, click “Other user” in the bottom-left of the screen.
- Now, enter your username and password.
Username: firstname.lastname
Password: [Temp or currently set password]
- After signing in with your credentials, if you used a temporary password it will ask you to change it.
Password Requirements
- Minimum of 14 characters
- Cannot contain your name or username
- Must include characters from three of the four categories below:
o Uppercase letters (A–Z)
o Lowercase letters (a–z)
o Numbers (0–9)
o Special characters (!, $, #, %, etc.)
- Passphrases with multiple words, including spaces are encouraged.
Previous passwords cannot be reused.
Congratulations! You are now signed into your computer. After signing into the computer for the first time, it is no longer required to be directly connected to the network with ethernet.
